For teachers and IT administrators
StudyDesign AI is built only for VCE students in Victoria. The first half of this page is for teachers, and the second half is what your IT team needs to allow it through the school network.
If you teach a VCE class
Your Unit 3/4 class can have free access for the rest of the term. There is no cost, no card and no per-seat licence to sign, because there is no schools product to sell you yet. What I want back is your opinion on whether the marking is any good.
It will not write their assessed work. Ask it for an introduction, a body paragraph or a conclusion and it declines and hands back the structure, the criteria and a question about the student's own argument instead. That holds for the polite phrasings too, which is where most tools fall over. Marking and annotating writing a student has already done is the opposite thing, and it is the whole product.
What a student gets: practice questions built from the study design for the exact unit and area of study, and a written response marked against the criteria with the specific phrases underlined and a reason next to each one.
What is StudyDesign AI?
StudyDesign AI is an AI-powered study tool aligned to official VCAA study design documents. It provides:
- AI tutoring grounded in official VCAA curriculum documents (not generic AI)
- Practice tests with AI marking calibrated to VCAA rubrics
- Multiple-choice quizzes generated from the study design
- Flashcard decks for VCE subjects
- Personalised study plans and exam schedule tracking
The platform is designed to supplement classroom teaching, not replace it. It does not contain social features, messaging, or content unrelated to VCE study.
Microphone access is optional and off by default. There is a spoken tutor mode that uses the browser's own speech recognition, so it works in Chrome and Edge and does not exist in Safari or Firefox. Nothing else on the platform needs a microphone, and a student who never turns it on loses no functionality other than talking instead of typing.
Student safety & content moderation
All AI interactions are moderated to ensure responses stay on-topic and educationally appropriate. The platform:
- Rejects off-topic or inappropriate requests
- Does not allow generation of harmful, adult, or non-educational content
- Stores only what is needed for study progress (no unnecessary personal data)
- Complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Privacy Principles
- Does not share student data with third parties for advertising or profiling

Request recategorisation from your filter vendor
If your school uses a web content filter, you can submit studydesignai.com for recategorisation as Education. Links for common Australian school filter vendors:
