- Define health status
- An individual's or population's overall level of health, taking into account various measures.
- Burden of disease — units
- DALYs — disability-adjusted life years. 1 DALY = 1 year of healthy life lost.
- YLL vs YLD
- YLL: years of life lost (mortality). YLD: years lost due to disability (morbidity). DALY = YLL + YLD.
- Life expectancy — definition
- Average years a person can expect to live, assuming current mortality rates persist.
- HALE — what is it?
- Health-adjusted life expectancy — years lived in full health (subtracting years in poor health).
- WHO definition of health
- State of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing — not merely the absence of disease/infirmity.
